Anesthesia and perioperative care

Dr. Min Woo Jung works in anesthesiology and pain medicine at TJ Plastic Surgery. His role covers anesthesia management, monitoring during surgery and coordination with the operating team before, during and after a procedure.

What to discuss before surgery

An anesthesia assessment should review previous anesthesia experiences, medication and supplement use, allergies, sleep apnea and relevant heart or lung conditions. Ask Dr. Jung which type of anesthesia is proposed, who monitors you throughout the operation and what recovery observations are planned.

Role within the surgical team

The anesthesia clinician and surgeon have complementary responsibilities. Confirm the planned anesthesia arrangement for your particular procedure and how postoperative pain, nausea or unexpected changes in your condition will be managed.

Making the consultation specific to you

Before an anesthetic consultation, prepare an accurate medication list and details of earlier anesthesia problems, allergies and relevant medical conditions. Ask Dr. Jung how your health history affects the proposed anesthetic and monitoring plan. Confirm the arrangements for recovery-room observation and the instructions on eating, drinking and taking regular medicines before the procedure.
